Mission

The Gompers Park Athletic Association is a youth baseball and softball league serving Chicago’s Northwest Side for almost 50 years. Our goal is to provide an affordable opportunity for kids to learn baseball and softball in a fun, supportive and inclusive environment. Our all-volunteer board of directors and coaching staff provides instruction on the fundamentals of the game, including teamwork and sportsmanship. We believe in healthy competition, and we do keep score and have a playoff each season (except for our youngest division). We believe that kids who learn how to play a role on a team, to win and lose with grace, and to support their teammates have a wonderful opportunity to become successful adults.

We provide 8 divisions of house league baseball, softball and T-ball for boys and girls ages 5-17 with age-appropriate rules for each division. We also have several different travel teams for both baseball and softball. Games (except Pony Baseball and Major Softball divisions) are played from late April through July at picturesque Gompers Park, 4222 W. Foster Avenue, and Eugene Field Park, 5100 N. Ridgeway Avenue. Pony Baseball and Major Softball seasons start after Memorial Day, pending the end of the IHSA seasons. GPAA is not affiliated with the Chicago Park District but does use its facilities.
